After weighing the evidence in the most comprehensive, scientific review in Canadian pipeline history, the Joint Review Panel of the National Energy Board and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency provided its positive recommendation.
The Panel concluded that Canada and Canadians would be better off with the Northern Gateway Project than without it.
They also provided 209 conditions we must meet before we build the project or before we start operations. Our team will continue to work hard towards meeting the conditions set out by the Joint Review Panel, just as we’re working hard to meet B.C.’s tough conditions.
These conditions are designed to protect B.C.’s unique marine environment with world-class spill prevention and response.see conditions
From wildlife protection to pipeline construction, these conditions include provisions to protect the environment along the pipeline route.see conditions
The conditions provide for economic benefits and a partnership with Aborginal groups and economic benefits falling to British Columbians.see conditions
